Let’s get this out of the way right off the bat: yes, Cats is every bit as bad and creepy as you feared it would be the moment you laid eyes on its now-infamous trailer back in July.

"They're ready. They're rolling. The presses are rolling... on Deadline!" (Be still my beating heart!)

I’m pleased to report that I left the theater with the same (very teary-eyed) sense of awe and wonder I had as a little girl: I absolutely loved loved loved The Rise of Skywalker.

Pulling back the curtain on the courage and inner conflict required to speak truth to power – especially when it comes to high-profile media personalities – this sometimes-great, sometimes-meh ripped-from-the-headlines docudrama chronicles the downfall of lecherous Fox News CEO Rogers Ailes (played by John Lithgow, buried under a mountain of latex prosthetics).

Two years ago, full of skepticism, I sat down to watch Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and, unexpectedly, found myself really enjoying it. It was funny and fresh, giving the much-loved original a whole new spin, and I was super-excited when a sequel was announced. But, I feared, could it live up to the previous installment?

In a word: yes. Although some of the key elements that were new and exciting in Jungle (the dropping-from-the-sky thing, the black-bands-on-the-arm thing, etc.) are no longer new or exciting, director Jake Kasdan and the cast (all of whom return here) still manage to find new ways to keep the audience duly entertained. Just... not quite as much as we were last time.

Eddie Redmayne's meteorological scientist is definitely the fairer sex when he pairs up with the Felicity Jones' adventurous balloon pilot in the atmospherically thin but still enjoyable The Aeronauts.
