Hold onto your mountain banshee!

When first full trailer for James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash exploded onto Comic Con last week, Disney was smart to release it online ASAP. With this third Avatar film, Cameron has added a new element to the mix… Fire and Ash introduces volcanoes, flames, and lots of red and orange to contrast with the rich blue water hues of the previous films. Judging the from the trailer, I’m sure it will by eye-popping at the very least (the screenplay seems to have taken backseat as usual… there’s a lot of grunting, hooting, and hissing in the trailer).

Also worth noting, The Hollywood Reporter says that while a run time hasn’t yet been announced, Cameron has teased that Fire and Ash “will be a bit longer” than the 3 hour 12 minute The Way of Water. Take note and time your hydration properly.

Avatar: Fire and Ash is coming to theaters December 19, 2025.
