Give credit to the man who make a box office smash about a scientist. For his next project, Christopher Nolan could do whatever he wanted, and he chose to adapt one of the oldest stories ever told, Homer’s The Odyssey. Based on the epic poem from the ancient Greek, The Odyssey follows a general named Odysseus after a 10-year war. His only goal for him and his men is to go home. Unsurprisingly, there are many obstacles that get in the way. Unsurprisingly, Nolan’s interpretation looks beautiful and majestic in this first full teaser trailer.
Matt Damon stars as Odysseus, and the trailer give us the first peek at Tom Holland as his son Telemachus and Anne Hathaway as his wife Penelope. The film also stars Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and Zendaya.
The Odyssey comes to theaters July 17, 2026. The film was shot entirely in IMAX, so get thee to a big screen when it is released!
