Terminator Vault: The Complete Story Behind the Making of The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Our Rating

Author: Ian Nathan

Publisher: Voyageur Press

Year: 2013

MPAA Rating: G

I feel like Terminator Vault:The Complete Story Behind the Making of The Terminator and Terminator II: Judgment Day is as enjoyable to movie fans as it is to people who like books with pockets. You know the kind I mean – those awesome coffee table numbers with little wax paper sleeves full of blue prints and design plans, scanned documents, reproductions of postcards and handwritten correspondence, drawings, and little paper doll-y things. There’s childlike delight in pulling out these carefully crafted gems, and as good as the text may be, it’s made all the better by the presence of this excellent ephemera.

Terminator Vault is nothing short of impressive. Housed in a heavy outer cover, this hardback book slides out and greets you with a foreword by Arnold Schwarzenegger. What follows is a thorough account of the making of Terminator, its blockbuster sequel, and it’s slightly less amazing third installment. Rife with photographs, interviews with cast and crew, and production notes, Terminator Vault serves as a worthy homage to the Terminator franchise (which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary). Whether you’re a hardcore fan of the film, someone who enjoys a behind-the-scenes look at the movies, or just someone who loves poking through pockets full of fun, Terminator Vault is a treat.
