And that’s a wrap on our coverage of Hot Docs 2015! It was, as ever, an amazing 10 days, filled with fantastic films, insightful Q&As, and plenty of great conversations with my fellow filmgoers while we all waited in line. Kudos to the fest staff and volunteers for all their hard work, and to the filmmakers for providing me much food for thought.
The festival announced its official award winners, and a number of the docs we liked (including Haida Gwaii: On the Edge of the World and The Closer We Get) took home trophies.
Conversely, Unbranded – a film we didn’t dig so much – won over audiences and rode off into the sunset with the much-coveted Audience Award.
So now, weary from wall-to-wall screenings, I’ll sign off for another year. Already looking forward to 2016!
