Funny enough, just last night I saw the season three Ted Lasso episode where Higgins dismisses an erratic billionaire as having the “temperament of one of those kids in Willy Wonka that gets murdered at the chocolate factory.” That made me laugh out loud, naming one of the unspoken, unresolved plot tangents of the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. This first peek at Wonka, from the makers of the charming Paddington, showcases a more whimsical, less creepy Willy Wonka as played by Oscar-nominee Timothée Chalamet in what seems to be an origin story. Just wait until the Oompa Loompa….
