I have to admit, I’ve been waiting for this one! Generations of my family went to the University of Washington, and the lore of the UW crew, both men and women, is legendary in Seattle. None more so than the 1936 crew that went to the Berlin Olympics and showed Hitler what’s-what on his own turf. The film is an adaptation of the marvelous book The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics by Daniel James Brown and is a rousing true story that hits all the marks. Can’t wait to see George Clooney’s big-screen dramatic version.
